Dogs are vaccinated against

  • Canine Distemper: a fatal neurological disease now rare in Ireland due to the high uptake in vaccinations for pets.
  • Canine Parvovirus: a highly contagious disease that causes severe illness and can be often fatal.
  • Canine Adenovirus: a highly infectious disease and can cause mild to severe illness in dogs.
  • Canine Parainfluenza Virus: a contagious respiratory virus.
  • Leptospirosis: a bacterial infection spread by rat urine or infected dogs and is also the cause of Weil’s disease in humans.
  • Kennel Cough vaccinations are required if a pet is visiting a kennels or any dog classes. Kennel cough can cause a dramatic honking cough similar to whooping cough in humans and is highly infectious and can in dogs with underlying conditions be extremely serious.
